Friends of Wumenu Community Farm

We aim to make fresh produce accessible to families both in Scotland and Ghana.

About

Our charity has worked hard to connect young people within Scotland to the earth around them. Our CEO Gift Amu-Logotse has structured various curriculums within Scottish schools to allow students to learn how important agriculture is and how it affects their daily lives. The Wumenu community in Ghana has been working tirelessly to build and maintain a functioning farm that will sustain their community for the future. Our goals for the future of our charity include establishing a solid connection between Scottish students with the Wumenu Farm and community to show them how agricultural knowledge has helped a community grow, thrive, and become successful.

How Did We Choose Our Name?

“Wumenu Community Farm” is a community farm & hostel located in Ghana. We are Friends of Wumenu Community Farm because we strive to learn and understand more about this community farm and we seek ways to help each other grow. Our charity aims to raise awareness of and connection to this community in Ghana so that we can understand how to practice sustainability within Scotland and across the world. As much as we are learning from them, they also learn from us! We are friends, bothers, and sisters across the globe. Community doesn’t just mean your hometown, it means something much deeper than that! Our ideals as a charity lie in promoting individual well being through the collective human experience. We must all understand our connection to those around us, and our connection to those far from us as well, in order to gain better understanding of the world and the Earth we inhabit.
